The only way you can connect with others is to be near them. When you’re talking to a neighbour, ask: “Would you like to be a Good Neighbour with me?” Then touch phones and exchange Good Neighbour contacts.
The Good Neighbour App helps people who live near each other feel more connected and cared for. Without having to divulge phone numbers, email addresses or social media accounts to the public. There is no advertising and there is no unwanted noise. Just real connections between you and your neighbours. Here are some of the ways it can be used:
Need a cat sitter while you’re away? Someone to shovel your driveway in winter? Are you new to the area and want to meet neighbours for a cup of tea? Post or respond to a short ask with a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ and help each other out.
Hold informal potlucks, picnics, or other gatherings without having to create complicated online events. Simply post the date, time and location and people will RSVP.
Don’t wait for “someone else” to make positive change. Use The Good Neighbour App to include locals in discussing important matters in person. Benefit from talking things out face-to-face instead of behind news article comments.
We have taken steps to protect your personal information from hackers and big companies like Google and Facebook. No one is monitoring your posts except you and your connections. There are no ads and no selling of your personal information.
Good Neighbour app is hosted on encrypted cloud storage, and posts are deleted from the main database as soon as they are dated.
Your network is unique to you. If you are connected to Mary, she may be one of 10 people in your connections. But Mary is only connected to the people she chooses to connect with – which may not include others in your connection group and may include different people in her network.
You are in control. Grow your community as large as you want. Keep yourself safe from trolls and unwanted posts. No more pictures of your cousin’s friend’s brother’s breakfast, either!
Now ready for Beta testing. Be one of the first 100 users and get access for life! It may mean there are still tweaks to make, but there’s something exciting about being the first to access something new. You must be 16 years of age or older to use the app.
